Senior Exit Project Update 1

So, We started our senior exit project a long time ago, but I keep forgetting to blog so here's a quick recap. We started the project with the Saint Vincent De Paul Society. This was great at first till we realized that the orginization has only four major projects that the do throughout the year. At the time we had joined them we had already missed one of the major events. So as planned we worked for a good six and a half hours. After we realized that they cannot fufill our various needs we left the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. We then joined up with St. Joseph Catholic Youth Ministry. We will work with the local youth minister and be able to assist him with the functioning of the youth ministry program. We started our various tasks on the twenty fifth of January with the reorginization of the closets in the youth room. Once we finnished reorganizing the closets we went on to clean the pantry of the building in which we had been working. We also aided the youth  inister with setting up and taking down of a retreat for the schools sophmores. We also finnished the kitchens other storage units with the kitchen area. And only yesterday we were put to work washing the pews in the church. Lots of fun! Thats all for now.

Persian Culture

The Persians were mostly Muslim this is demosnstrated in the Rubiaiyat, and Manners of Kings, in there most frequently used the name of Allah in the examples and reasons to be good. " Those who bridle thier anger and forgive men; for Allah loveth the beneficent." They also believe that we need to work for the future of ours souls not living in the past. This is demonstrated by the sections in the Rubaiyat in the section LXXI, "The moving finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on; nor all your Piety nor wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your tears wash out a word of it.

Gilgamesh and Noah

Gilagamesh and Noah have very similar stories. I believe that this is, in my opinon, a result of the story of Noah being retold throught the world. I think that because the bible was written later it often doesn't get credited with the origin of the flood story. I believe that the story of Noah was around before then was heard by the Summarians then adapted to fit thier culture and the moral that they wanted to convey.
